MAS (Pharmacy First) – decommissioning 31.03.23

This service is being decommissioned on 31.03.23

We have previously written to inform you of the decision by Nottinghamshire ICB regarding not commissioning the Pharmacy First service from 1st April 2023.

Below is a letter with more details on what pharmacies need to do and contact details for patients to be able to express their concerns to the ICB.

The Nottinghamshire LPC team want to support you through this change in any way that we can. If you have any specific query or comments then please email Alison Ellis secretary@nottinghamshirelpc.co.uk and she will get one of the LPC team to respond to you as soon as possible.

The aim of the service is to deliver a minor ailment service through Nottinghamshire Community Pharmacies for patients registered with a GP within the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group area. The Pharmacy will provide an accessible minor ailments service wholly acceptable to patients, releasing GP appointments and using pharmacist’s skills to their full potential.

For 16 minor self-limiting ailments patients will see a pharmacist rather than a GP or practice nurse.
