Stop Smoking Service – Thriving Nottingham (City)
Thriving Nottingham are inviting pharmacies to sign up to provide the local Stop Smoking Service. Thriving Nottingham have consulted with Community Pharmacy Nottinghamshire and they are happy to talk with individual pharmacies around training and sign off (especially if you are already signed up and trained to do national service) and also you have a choice of models using NRT or Vapes or both. Thriving Nottingham Stop Smoking Subcontractor Project Launch
Thriving Nottingham launched their new Stop Smoking Subcontractor Programme, designed to empower local pharmacies to deliver stop smoking support right in the heart of our communities.
From 1st July, participating pharmacies across Nottingham started offering free, accessible Stop Smoking support to help more residents make a positive change to their health.
What is the Stop Smoking Subcontractor Programme?
This innovative project allows trained pharmacy staff to deliver the trusted 12-week Stop Smoking programme, providing clients with behavioural support, Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), and access to a Carbon Monoxide monitor to track progress — all with full support and training from Thriving Nottingham.
Why This Matters:
Smoking remains one of the leading preventable causes of ill health, especially linked to long-term conditions. By working hand-in-hand with community pharmacies, we are removing barriers to support and making it easier for people to quit, close to home.
The Journey So Far:
Thanks to fantastic engagement from the pharmacy sector, 11 pharmacies are already signed up, with more expressing interest. Full training, resources, and ongoing support are provided, making it easy for pharmacies to integrate the programme into their services.
