Mental Health First Aid in the pharmacy

15th November 2018 7.15pm - 9.15pm

Park Inn by Radisson Nottingham 296 Mansfield Road Nottingham NG5 2BT

Mental Health First Aid in the pharmacy

Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.
(MIND, the mental health charity)

Pharmacy is in a great position to help people with mental health problems. By understanding more about the mental health problems our patients struggle with, we can develop more empathy and provide a better service to improve their outcomes. We can also help to identify people who would benefit from some support and signpost them to the best place for them to receive the help that they need.

This workshop is open to everyone in the pharmacy team as we can all play a part in improving the service we provide to patients and customers with mental health problems. During the workshop we will cover;

  • What is the mental health picture in Nottinghamshire?
  • Understanding different mental health conditions.
  • Screening for depression
  • Every Mind Matters*
  • Making Every Contact Count
  • Signposting to local resources

This workshop will also give you the opportunity to think about looking after your own mental health and that of your team.

*Every Mind Matters is an online resource, provided by Public Health England, that is being trialled in the East Region.
