Flu Vaccination Training – 3rd September 2017 – spaces left

The Nottinghamshire LPC are now offering two more face-to-face Flu Vaccination Training sessions on Sunday 3rd September 2017.  The training will be conducted by ECG. The course can be used either as an update for those already trained in vaccination or for anyone new to vaccination. The training covers your requirements to provide flu vaccinations via the NHS commissioned services. Notice: Pharmacists must be revalidated on their practical skills every two years in order to provide the NHS flu vaccinations in their practice. The training has been designed to give you the practical skills required to be able to administer vaccines and covers the following:

  • Intramuscular and subcutaneous injection technique
  • Intranasal administration
  • Adult and child BLS
  • Recognition and management of anaphylaxis, fainting and other adverse reactions for adults and children
  • Administration of adrenaline via ampoules and auto-injectors
  • Reconstitution of vaccines
  • Positioning of children for vaccinations

Pharmacists / Contractors are required to complete online refresher training and must purchase a PGD annually.

Once registered on to the course you will be provided with access to ECG online vaccination theory course. The online course must be completed before attending the practical course. Following the completion of the course you will be provided with a certificate and a private flu PGD.

The training will cost a pharmacist £30 to attend which is non-refundable. Payment is via Eventbrite by debit / credit card.

There are limited spaces available so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Locum Pharmacists are able to attend if they are nominated by a contractor and will need to provide the address and F-Code for that pharmacy.
