07734056252

Role:

Mike is the Services Implementation Lead for Community Pharmacy Nottinghamshire.

Mike is also part of the communications sub committee

Background:

Mike was previously on the committee as a member representing CCA but on his retirement from Boots Pharmacy he took on the role of Services Implementation Lead for all NHS services and offers support to both pharmacies and GP practices where needed.  Mike works closely with Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB.

Mike’s role primarily involves supporting pharmacy contractors in implementing and developing the current raft of community pharmacy services as well as helping to implement new services.  Mike also spends time working with and training surgery teams to facilitate the referral process for pharmacy services across Nottinghamshire.

I was keen to be part of the Notts LPC because I believe that it is important to keep the committee updated on the work that I am doing on their behalf and I believe I have a wider role to play in the future strategic direction of the LPC.

I have been a pharmacist for 40 years and I have experienced many changes within the profession that have helped pharmacists move away from just being simply part of the medicines  supply function into a respected service provider within the wider primary care team.  There are significant changes happening at the moment across community pharmacy and it is important to me that I play my part in helping our contractors to navigate those changes.
